Course objective:
This practical course supports biomedical researchers in making effective use of UniProt for their research. Participants will learn how to access and integrate protein data, use programmatic approaches to retrieve and analyse information, and explore genetic variants in a biomedical research context.
Through expert-led presentations, practical examples, and interactive sessions, participants will gain tools to navigate and interpret UniProt data and apply protein knowledge to their own research questions, helping turn data into meaningful biological insights and discovery.
Please note that, although the course is restricted to GIMM affiliates, the BIOMICS Biomedical Data Science Seminar at 15:45 is open to the entire scientific community. Anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend, either in person at GIMM Oeiras or online via Zoom.
For non-GIMMers in-person attendance to the seminar, prior registration by email at biomics@gimm.pt is mandatory, so that visitor access can be arranged with GIMM security. Alternatively, participants can join online via Zoom.
