Governance Structure
The Coordinator, Nuno Barbosa-Morais, will liaise with the European Commission (EC) through the assigned Project Officer and be responsible for the efficient implementation of BIOMICS.
The Management Team, composed of the Project Manager, Diana Vieira, will support the Coordinator and the Executive Board.
The General Assembly (GA), chaired by the Nuno Barbosa-Morais, coordinator, is composed by one representative of each involved participant – Manuel Irimia for CRG, Evangelia Petsalaki for EMBL, and Pedro Beltrão for ETH – and is responsible for the proper implementation of the rights and obligations of each participant in accordance with the Grant and Consortium Agreement, as well as discussion and agreeing on major alterations to the project plan, if necessary, to be afterwards presented to, and validated by, the EC Project Officer.
The Executive Board (EB) is composed of the WP Leaders, all GIMM Faculty, who will lead the implementation of the assigned WPs with support of the Project Manager and designated people from the partnering institutions.

BIOMICS comprises research centres of excellence, with extensive international collaborative networks, worldwide recognised contribution to training, installed technical capacity and innovation-driven initiatives. These features and core values portray the consortium’s uniqueness and are perfectly aligned with its objectives.
