BIOMICS is pleased to announce the workshop Science meets Media: Storytelling & Skills for Bioinformatics, taking place on 14 October 2025, from 10:00 to 16:30, at GIMM Lisbon.

The BIOMICS communication team is organising a media training event that brings scientists and science communicators closer to journalists. The initiative fosters mutual understanding, improves dialogue, and equips participants with practical skills to engage more effectively with the media and the wider public.

The programme features:

• Oana Stroe – Deputy Head of Communications at EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI)
• Omar Jamshed – Responsable de Prensa at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG)
• Sara Sá – Science Communicator at the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM)

The event will also welcome invited speakers and include coffee break, lunch, and networking opportunities.
