BIOMICS recently hosted a practical workshop at GIMM – From Academia to Industry: Career Transition Workshop – aimed at supporting researchers in navigating career opportunities beyond academia.
The workshop brought together 17 participants, including MSc students, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and technicians/managers. Following an introduction by BIOMICS Project Coordinator Nuno Morais, participants engaged in three sessions led by Elena Moreno-Castillo (Training & Academic Officer, CRG), focusing on career exploration, CV development, and LinkedIn optimisation. With a strong practical approach, participants worked directly on their own materials, aligning their profiles with industry expectations.
The programme concluded with a session by Damjana Kastelic (Head of Training & Academic Unit, CRG) dedicated to networking, interviews, and salary negotiation, where participants applied their skills through interactive exercises and role-play scenarios.
This initiative reflects BIOMICS’ ongoing commitment to equipping researchers with the tools and confidence to explore diverse career paths.
